CareLine for Tuesday, September 8, 2020
We extend our sympathy to Pamela Massie and family in the loss of her mother, Odell Harris. Visitation will be held today from 2-8 PM and Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM at Taylor Funeral Home. She was the grandmother of Kim Yates and Michelle Webber.
Prayers have been requested for:
• Lynn Mathis, who is recovering from a stroke
• Jeff Hagglund, (son-in-law of Jim & Beth Greene) who has cancer and will begin treatments soon (Jeff would be encouraged to receive cards at PO Box 294, Stanwood, WA, 98292)
Other Announcements:
With your safety and the consideration of others in mind:
• When preparing to attend worship service, please confirm that you and your family do not have a fever. If you have had a fever in the last 48 hours, please do not attend.
• Please sanitize your hands with soap or sanitizer, and utilize the hand-sanitizing stations located throughout the building.
• Please continue to wear a face mask during the more crowded times of entering and exiting the building, and practice social distancing.
• Please alert the church office if you test positive for COVID-19 within two weeks of attending an “in-person” worship service or another event.
• Walnut Street has a cleaning policy in place to disinfect the building prior to and after worship assemblies. We also have a plan to communicate with the congregation, when appropriate, precautions that can be taken so we can safely continue to meet.
Thank you for your support of the addition of our 7 am Sunday morning service which is now open to everyone wearing a mask, practicing social distancing, and observing contact precautions when not in the assembly. This expands the opportunities for Sunday worship to three in-person assemblies (7 am, 9 am, 6 pm). Please continue to pray for an end to the pandemic, for those who are weak or sick, and for those who are healthy that they remain so.
The CIA Group (3rd-5th grades) will have a devotional and game night in the Fellowship Hall on Friday, September 11th from 6-8 PM. Contact Pat Pewitt (615-970-9172) if you have questions.
Walnut Street’s Food Pantry is in need of the following food items: canned chicken, canned tuna, Vienna sausage, white beans, pinto beans, and crackers.
Please join us for a Drive-By Bridal Shower honoring Macey Bear, bride-elect of Eric Zuller, Sunday, September 13 from 1-2:30 PM. Macey is registered at Bed, Bath and Beyond and Amazon.com.
In the absence of in-person Bible Classes, the following classes will be available at WSCOC.com under the Media/Recorded Lessons tab. They are: Kindergarten and down, 1st -5th, and 6th-12th (These classes will post as they become available).

During these days, many of our people are relying on technology, some more than usual. If you need tech support with your tablet, smartphone, laptop, or smart-TV, please email us your question at: askwalnutstreet@wscoc.com. We will do our best to respond personally to your question and help offer support in some way.
Reading for today: 27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell. Matthew 5:27-30 (His Life Devotional Book page 213)
