Other Announcements:

Due to some major relocation of phone and internet wiring in the church office there may be some outages with our phone system throughout the week. We apologize for this event and the inconvenience that you may experience due to the outage.

2020 has been a challenging year! Have you struggled with fear, or know someone who has? What is the biblical basis of integrating fear into our faith? Beginning Wednesday, December 16th at 7pm, Steve Moore will be hosting a Zoom class on “Faith, Fear, and Risk.” This will be a participatory study with Bible reading assignments. If interested,
e-mail skmoore63@comcast.net and put “I’m in” in the subject line; you will receive a link to the study in the next day or so. The first assignment before class is to read the story of King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 17-20, with a special emphasis on the events of Chapter 20.

If you purchased a poinsettia and would like to pick it up, or would like a 2021 Devotional Book, please call the church office when you arrive at the building and we will bring it out to you.
The Counseling Center has several openings on Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning at 8 AM. This service is free for members and family. If you wish to have on-line counseling, call 615-975-2395. We keep all clients confidential.

December’s item for the Golden Deeds Ministry is combs or brushes. This item will be added to the backpacks for the homeless in our community. There is a collection bin in the Gathering Room.

During these days, many of our people are relying on technology, some more than usual. If you need tech support with your tablet, smartphone, laptop, or smart-TV, please email us your question at: askwalnutstreet@wscoc.com. We will do our best to respond personally to your question and help offer support in some way.

Reading for today: Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, 7 for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-8 (His Life Devotional Book page 298)
