We extend our sympathy to Bryan McAlister and his family in the loss of his brother, RW McAlister, who passed away Thursday evening. Arrangements are not known at this time.

 We extend our sympathy to Walter Crafton in the loss of his wife, Anne Crafton, who passed away.  Funeral services were held Tuesday at Spann Funeral Home.  She was the mother of David Crafton and the sister of Gilbert Lankford.

We extend our sympathy to Snow Tidwell in the loss of this wife, Eula Tidwell, who passed away Sunday. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 16 from 4-8 PM and Sunday, October 17 from 12 PM until time of service at 2pm at Taylor Funeral Home.  She was the grandmother of Chris Hedge and great grandmother of Charlie and Sophie Hedge.

Congratulations to Parker Yates on the birth on his son, Sutton Case Yates, who was born Tuesday evening. Proud grandparents are Mike and Kim Yates.

All ladies are invited to a drive-by bridal shower honoring Ashley Flowers, bride-elect of Nathan Cummings on Saturday from 10-11 AM. Ashley is registered at Target, Amazon, and Walmart. Nathan is the son of Paul and Belinda Cummings and grandson of Bobby and Regina Cathey.

Join us for a Gift Card Shower honoring Mary Catherine Freeman, bride-elect of Evan Radtke.  A box for gift cards will be located in the Upper Gathering Room starting Sunday, October 10 through Sunday, October 24. Mary and Evan are registered at Amazon, Target and Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Those interested in coming to the Wednesday Express Meal October 20 be looking for  a sign-up QR code in this week’s Edifier. On the menu will be BBQ chicken, baked potato, corn and dessert.  Cost is $5 per person or $15 per family. Dealine to sign up is Sunday, October 17.

Just a reminder that all adult classes are invited to meet in the auditorium for Wednesday night classes for the following dates:  October 13, 20, 27 and November 3. Lessons in our “My Life In Him” will cover: Dealing with the loss of a child, the loss of an adult child, a spouse, and a job.

Walnut Street will participate in Boo Fest on Main again this year! Make plans to join us Saturday, October 30 in the parking lot beside our counseling building. We need lots of candy donations, and those can be brought to the office or the Gathering Room.  We also need volunteers for this fun community outreach!

If you left canned soup donations for the pantry outside of the office last Sunday, please call the church office.

The Golden Deeds Ministry is collecting small tools and flashlights during the month of October. Each month this ministry collects a different item to be shared with the homeless of our community.  Look for the collection bin in the Gathering Room.
